| By A Staff Reporter Kathmandu, June 24 A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Range Office, Hanumandhoka, recovered the head of deceased Khyati Shrestha, which the murderer had chopped down after kidnapping and killing her. The Police have recovered the head of the deceased Shrestha at decomposing state from Muddkhu of Goldhunga Village Development Committee-6 of Kathmandu district at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The murderer of Khyati, police said, had chopped her body into three parts. The skull of the deceased Shrestha was located some 150 ft. down at the inclined bushy land from the main road section, police said. The lower body parts like limbs were, however, were located at Satra Kilo road section of the Kabilash Village Development Committee-2 of Chitwan district on June 13. Similarly, the headless torso of the deceased was found at Chayashikot of Sainbu Village Development Committee-1 of Lalitpur district on June 21. Nava Raj Silwal, Superintendent of Police (SP) at the Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka said that police located the head of the deceased Shrestha as per information given by the alleged murderer Biren Shrestha. The police team took Biren Shrestha, the man alleged behind the heinous killing to Goldhunga from where the police recovered decomposed head of late Shrestha, a 19 student of grade-12 at Jubilant College and Research Centre. "After recovering all three separated body parts of Shrestha, police took all of them to the TU Teaching Hospital for a postmortem," SP Silwal said at a press conference today. The same police team on Wednesday morning seized a cash of Rs. 4, 50,000 that has been deposited by Biren at the Nepal Finance and Cooperative Society at Baneshwor of Kathmandu. Prior to this, police had already seized Rs. 85,000 in cash from his rented room on June 21. Likewise, police on Wednesday morning raided the house of Merina Shakya, an accomplice in Shrestha murder, at Yerahiti of Ichangu Narayan Village Development Committee-9 and seized Rs. 3, 50,000 in cash from her house. Police recovered the cash from a bookshelf situated at the study room of Shakya. Earlier, the police had also recovered another Rs. 16,010. The police have so far recovered a total of Rs. 901, 010 from Biren and Shakya. |
